Studying the Enter and work in confined spaces at Holmesglen

You will learn how to identify hazards, implement control measures, and work in compliance with confined space regulations and standards, ensuring a safer work environment. Throughout the day, participants engage with others while practicing various scenarios, gaining knowledge on different types of confined spaces, safety hazards, permits, equipment, and more.<p>Under the guidance of experienced confined space specialists, students have the opportunity to receive hands-on training using Holmesglen's purpose-built mobile confined space trailer.<p>Key learning objectives include:<br>• Learning about the different types of confined spaces<br>• Preparing to work in confined spaces<br>• Identifying hazards and putting in place suitable control measures to make work safer<br>• Carrying out work in accordance with confined space regulations and standards including permit requirements and relevant equipment<br>• Gaining access and exiting confined spaces safely<br>• Testing and monitoring the atmosphere

Entry Requirements

• Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)<br>• At least 3 months work experience in civil construction or infrastructure industries<br>• Minimum 17 years of age or 12 months’ work experience
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.
A pre training review will be conducted which covers the entry requirements

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
